West Haven City, Utah
Date: 2021 – 2023
Client: Weber Basin Water Conservancy District
Rapid growth accompanied by a sudden increase in industrial water usage created the need for increased flow capacity in western Weber County. Weber Basin Water Conservancy District partnered with AE2S to design the Weber West Pump Station, located in West Haven City. Due to an essentially accelerated schedule, the project was delivered using the Construction Manager at Risk (CMAR) method. The 4,500-gpm capacity pump station equipped with horizontal split-case pumps, variable- frequency drives, backup power generation and onsite sodium hypochlorite generation reliably delivers the needed water to western Weber County.
Supply chain issues created the necessity for immense flexibility and adaptation from the design team, CMAR, and District. Consistent and deliberate collaboration helped mitigate the hurdles that inevitably arise in a project where land acquisition and subsequent subdivision, shared access, and UDOT coordination were all essential to the success of the project.
