The South Dakota Engineering Society (SDES) Black Hills Chapter awarded Joe Noble, PE, one of its highest honors in February at the organization’s Annual Awards Gala. The Black Hills Chapter named Noble the 2023 Engineer of the Year. The award recognizes “members who have made outstanding contributions to the engineering profession, the public welfare and/or humankind.” SDES is a statewide organization affiliated with the National Society of Professional Engineers organization.

“I want to give a huge thanks to the SDES Black Hills Chapter for the Engineer of the Year Award,” said Noble. “And I thank AE2S for granting me the time to participate in NSPE, a great organization that actively seeks to protect the licensure of professional engineers.”

Noble is the current Past-President of the SDES Black Hills Chapter. He has nearly 20 years of combined military and private sector engineering experience and is the Operations Manager of the AE2S offices in Rapid City and Spearfish.

“I have been extremely blessed with amazing mentors, colleagues, and supervisors throughout my career,” says Noble, who is a Civil Engineer specializing in the design of municipal and private development projects.
