The name of one of the newest team members to join AE2S will likely be familiar to members of the American Water Works Association (AWWA). Jon Eaton has held Executive Officer, Board, Council, and Committee positions at the Association and Minnesota Section levels of AWWA.

Jon joined AE2S in late November as a Senior Consultant. He will be working with the Utility Planning and Nexus Practices with a focus on water, wastewater, and stormwater. His previous professional experience includes utility management positions in the Minneapolis metro area, including Superintendent of Utilities and Water Quality Supervisor. In addition to his active service with AWWA, Jon has been involved with the Suburban Utilities Superintendents Association and several Advisory Panels and Work Groups to promote source water protection, water reuse, and investigating emerging contaminants.

Jon earned a Bachelor of Chemistry from the University of Minnesota Institute of Technology. He also completed the Minnesota Public Works Leadership Academy at Hamline University School of Business and the Utility Management Institute through the University of Minnesota’s Continuing Education Program.

One of his many volunteer efforts brought him to villages in central Honduras with the IMAGINE group where he helped repair problematic drinking water systems that were plagued with flow and quality problems. He worked with the elected Water Board officials to identify problem areas, consider solutions, make repairs, modify the operation of transmission and distribution lines, consider the future impact of wastewater, and discuss the economics of sustaining a utility and improving the area’s public health.

In his spare time, Jon likes to hike, paramotor, paraglide, and enjoy the outdoors.
