State of Water Conference a First for Minnesota

MN conferenceSeveral organizations will come together in May to host Minnesota's first-ever State of Water Conference. Organizers say the event aims to educate local leaders, lake and riverfront property owners, and concerned citizens about being better stewards of the State's water resources. The event will be held at Cragun's Resort in Brainerd May 1-2, 2014. More than 70 presenters, four workshops,and 35 breakout sessions will be featured at the conference. Each session is categorized by one of the following five tracks:

  • Aquatic Invasive Species
  • Restoring Aquatic Habitat
  • Watersheds
  • Local Impact: Ideas for Getting Things Done
  • Groundwater, Nutrient Management, and Run-off

The State of Water Conference sponsors include Conservation Minnesota, Minnesota Pollution Control Agency, Minnesota Department of Natural Resources, Minnesota Board of Water & Soil Resources, University of Minnesota Extension, Freshwater Society, and the Midwest Glacial Lakes Partnership.
