ND Health Department Creates Website for Spill Reports

spillThe North Dakota Department of Health has created a new spill report webpage to provide information about spill incidents that occur in the state. The Department of Health received several reports in late 2013 about oil, saltwater, and flow back water releases in western North Dakota.

The new website lists the date, location, and type of contaminant spilled, as well as the amount of the release. It also includes incident summaries about the spill's potential environmental impacts and actions taken or remediation plans. The Department of Health says the site will be updated weekly.

The Department of Health also posted its environmental incident forms online to simplify the reporting process. Click here to access the general environmental incident and oilfield related incident report forms, as well as the guidelines for reporting an incident.
