Two Updated AWWA Publications: Nitrification Manual & Operator Training HandbookM56

The American Water Works Association (AWWA) has released two updated publications for drinking water professionals. The "Manual of Water Supply Practices M56, Nitrification Prevention and Control in Drinking Water, Second Edition" includes practical operational approaches to nitrification prevention, reduction, control, and response to nitrification episodes. It is intended for water utilities that are currently using chloramination or are considering using chloramination, as well as researchers and engineers who are trying to control or mitigate nitrification. The newly revised "Water Treatment Operator Training Handbook, Third Edition" incorporates operator certification knowledge requirements as defined in the Associated Boards of Certification need-to-know criteria, including regulations, safety practices, and processes and procedures of water treatment operations.
