MN Board of Water & Soil Resources Performance Review and Assistance Program (PRAP) Grants

money & computerThe Minnesota Board of Water and Soil Resources (BWSR) recently announced a new need-based grant program for local government water entities that want to make improvements to their performance or operational effectiveness.

PRAP grant funding can be used for the costs associated with hiring an out-of-agency specialist or consultant for organizational improvement. The grants may also be used to pay for specialized staff development, conflict resolution, or reorganization. There is a $10,000 assistance limit, and in most cases there is a 50 percent cost-share requirement.

County water management and environmental services are eligible to apply, as well as soil and water conservation districts, watershed districts, and watershed management organizations. Proposals are being accepted now, and the grants will be awarded on a first-come, first-served basis as long as funding is available.
