Megan Houser Named to Prairie Business Magazine’s 40 Under 40 List

(Dec. 4, 2019) AE2S HR Director Megan Houser is among 40 of the top business professionals under the age of 40 in the Northern Plains. Prairie Business Magazine’s 2019 list includes inspiring and dedicated professionals from a wide range of industries who have made significant impact in their chosen professions, industries and communities.

“These young professionals help tell the larger story of the region’s economy -- that business is strong in the prairieland and companies are seeking the best, most innovative and talented workers to help it stay strong,” said Andrew Weeks, Prairie Business Editor. “I am impressed by each of these ambitious, visionary and skilled individuals.”

Megan’s Human Resources career spans more than 20 years, beginning with summer jobs and internships, with several years at a Fortune 500 company before arriving at AE2S in September 2012. Megan manages all human resources functions for Advanced Elements entities which include AE2S and the addition during her tenure of AE2S Construction, AE2S Operations, and AE2S Water Solutions. The staff has more than doubled since she arrived. Under Megan, AE2S and AE2S Construction became Equal Employment Opportunity/Affirmative Action employers to provide employment opportunities for minorities, women, and disabled persons.

“One of Megan’s biggest accomplishments is her role in the process of transitioning AE2S from a privately-owned firm in 2018 to an Employee Stock Option Plan (ESOP). The education process for our staff was very intensive and I’m happy to say our employees are very happy with becoming employee-owners of AE2S. The change has improved our culture even more and encourages staff to ‘Think Big and Go Beyond’ in even greater ways, now that they have a larger stake in the company’s success,” says Grant Meyer, AE2S CEO.

Over the course of her career Megan has become an Everything DiSC Certified Trainer. AE2S utilizes DiSC which is a behavioral assessment program designed to promote more effective business relationships. She is also Lominger certified in 360 Feedback, completed the Lean Six Sigma Yellow Belt Training, and is a member of the Society of Human Resource Management. In addition, Megan was honored to be invited to speak at UND’s Hultberg Lectureship in 2015 and the Legacy Event Symposium in 2017.

“In the seven years Megan has been the Human Resources Director, and the 6-plus years I have worked with her, Megan has consistently brought a passion, dedication, and total commitment to the workplace here at AE2S, particularly focused on the health and well-being of our staff and the organization as a whole,” says Craig Pietruszewski, AE2S CFO.

Megan earned her bachelor’s degree in International Business and Spanish from the University of Texas-Arlington and a Master of Business Administration with an emphasis in Human Resources from the University of North Dakota. She is based out of the Grand Forks AE2S headquarters office.
