Creating a Public Works Information System

Do you know that it’s possible to use GIS to streamline the components of an organization? It’s true.  By using ArcGIS for Server to centralize assets, work order management, and accounting; a GIS may be used as a public works information system.  Field work may be integrated with mobile GIS technology.

In 2007, ESRI published this article on how to build a public works information system through use of their products:
