Marie Owens, PE, has over 25 years of experience in the drinking water industry. Prior to becoming a Senior Project Manager at AE2S, she was the Director of the Division of Drinking Water at the Utah Department of Environmental Quality. She has also worked as a Process Engineer for the Metropolitan Water District of Salt Lake and Sandy, and as the Water Quality Manager at Jordan Valley Water Conservancy District. In these roles, she became intimately familiar with the strengths, challenges, and optimization strategies of various water treatment processes, including: conventional treatment, direct filtration, ultra-filtration membrane filtration, reverse osmosis filtration, ozone disinfection, UV disinfection, and chlorination. She also has extensive experience with water quality challenges in complex and blended distribution systems.
