AE2S is happy to introduce the Operations Manager of the firm’s newest office in Boise, Idaho. Cody Sprague, PE, knows Boise well because it’s his hometown. After leaving to attend Gonzaga University to study Civil Engineering and earn a master’s degree at the University of Idaho, he returned to his hometown to launch his engineering career.

Cody has been working ever since on water supply and wastewater treatment projects with a variety of Idaho communities. “I became an engineer because I love building things, science, and problem solving,” says Cody. “My favorite aspect of civil engineering is the exposure to all facets of community design and function while getting to use a wide array of physical, biological, and chemical principals to understand and solve the challenges communities are facing.”

Opening a brand-new AE2S office is no small feat. However, this isn’t the first time Cody will use his leadership skills to build something from the ground up. He founded the Water Environment Federation (WEF) student chapter at the University of Idaho and is a Founding Father of the Theta Chi Fraternity Spokane Chapter. He has also been an active member of the American Water Works Association (AWWA), Pacific Northwest Clean Water Association (PNCWA) and American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE) at the professional or student levels. He served as the Vice President of the AWWA – Southwest Idaho Subsection, Students and Young Professionals Committee Chair and Conference Chair of the PNCWA, and Student Chapter President of the ASCE at Gonzaga.

Cody met his wife, Angela, at Gonzaga and convinced her to move to Boise to create their life together. The couple has a one-year-old daughter, Claire, who has become a great friend to their yellow lab Tilly. When he’s not at work, you can find Cody spending time with his family or getting competitive by golfing, trapshooting, skiing, and playing trivia. He also loves watching sports, especially Gonzaga Basketball, and sightseeing or hiking in nature.

I am incredibly excited to help build the Boise AE2S office! This new role brings my past experiences in the State together with AE2S to deliver incredible projects and extreme client service to the communities of Idaho,” he says.
