  • Bemidji Wastewater System Master Planning
The Comprehensive Wastewater System Plan included an evaluation of the performance (capacity and limitations) of the existing wastewater treatment facility and the sanitary sewer collection system. A hydraulic model was created for the collection system to analyze the impacts and future needs associated with sewer extensions to annexation areas. For a more detailed description click here.
  • Grand Forks Biosolids Management Facilities Plan
The team of AE2S and Black and Veatch was retained to complete a Biosolids Management Facilities Plan for the Grand Forks, ND Wastewater Treatment Plant (WWTP). The Facilities Plan required completion before the WWTP operational data was available, so biosolids production was estimated based on wastewater contributions from domestic wastewater loads and major industrial loads. Considered biosolids management strategies included various combinations of aerobic digestion, mechanical dewatering, air or thermal drying, composting, landfill disposal, and land application costs. • Grand Forks Wastewater System Master Planning
AE2S was retained to complete Wastewater Utility Planning Services to address community growth, aging infrastructure, increasing O&M costs, as well as the construction of a mechanical wastewater treatment facility. The effort consisted of four planning documents: a Water and Wastewater Utility Baseline Planning Document, a Wastewater Collection System Master Plan, a Wastewater Treatment Concept Plan, and a Capital Improvements Plan and Rate Model. Together, these documents provide an assessment of existing infrastructure, identify future operating requirements, and establish a proactive planning approach for the wastewater utility. • Whitewater River Pollution Control Facility Planning
The project includes the addition of a third oxidation ditch and a third final clarifier, new Return Activated Sludge (RAS) and Waste Activated Sludge (WAS) pumping facilities, new chlorine/sulfur dioxide disinfection facilities, new cascade aeration, new aerated sludge holding tanks, new sludge storage tank, new reed drying beds, and new weather flow (peak month) capacity from 1.12 mgd to 2.18 mgd.
  • Wastewater System Engineering Services
Project involvement to date under this agreement includes: 1) a Wastewater Management Concept Study of the wastewater collection and treatment system to determine the most desirable approach for future interceptor conveyance and treatment plant capacity; 2) a comprehensive Wastewater Collection System Master Plan; 3) a North Side Wastewater Service Plan to address growth in north Fargo; 4) a conceptual Wastewater Treatment Facility Expansion Plan; 5) a Wastewater System Funding Matrix Technical Memorandum to determine the financial impacts on the City's current revenue generation; 6) technical council to the City for the Wastewater Rate Study and Cost of Service Analysis; and 7) numerous other general consulting services for the utility.
