USEPA Announces Water Quality Standards Variance Building Tool

The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (USEPA) released a new Water Quality Standards (WQS) Variance Building Tool. The WQS Variance Building Tool was created to help States, territories, and authorized Tribes determine whether a WQS variance is an appropriate tool for each situation.

New Department of Environmental Quality to Oversee North Dakota’s Environmental Regulations

The State of North Dakota now has a standalone Department of Environmental Quality (NDDEQ) that is separate from the North Dakota Department of Health.  Until this point, the North Dakota Department of Health was responsible for environmental oversight as well as community health, medical services, and emergency preparedness.

Challenge Your Utility Customers to Imagine a Day Without Water on Oct. 12

This month, utilities across the country are being urged to participate in the “Imagine a Day Without Water” event to highlight the importance of drinking water. The event is an effort by The Value of Water Campaign and Water Environment Federation to engage and educate people about the state of our water infrastructure and the need for reinvestment.
