Water Week 2016 Includes Annual Fly-In Event

capitalA diverse group of U.S. water sector organizations will join forces in Washington, D.C. for Water Week 2016, from April 10-16, 2016. The annual event provides an opportunity for water professionals to advocate for national policies that advance clean and safe waters in support of a healthy sustainable environment. The goal is to inform and inspire State and national policymakers about important water-related issues while communicating the value of water to environmental protection, economic development, and job creation.

Hundreds of water and wastewater professionals will travel to the nation’s capital with the following goals:

  • Meet with members of Congress and federal regulators.
  • Discuss key legislative, regulatory and legal water developments.
  • Showcase innovations and new technologies.
  • Celebrate the progress of water professionals in addressing our nation’s water challenges.

Two engineers from AE2S will attend the Fly-In. Nate Weisenburger, PE, Great Falls Operations Manager, and Deon Stockert, PE, Client Program Leader, will visit with U.S. Senators and Representatives about water issues in their respective States. For the latest information about Water Week, including agendas and speaker confirmations, go to www.WaterWeek.us.

The annual Water Week event is organized by the American Water Works Association (AWWA), Water Environment Federation (WEF), the National Association of Clean Water Agencies (NACWA), the Water Research Foundation (WRF), the Water Environment Research Foundation (WERF), and WateReuse, with support from national, State, and regional water organizations.
