  • Landgon Main Street Reconstruction
The City of Langdon, ND was plagued by a series of fires that ravaged its business district. Due to aging infrastructure, the City was unable to adequately fight those fires. Watermains, sanitary sewers, storm sewers, and streets were all desperately in need of repair. The City retained AE2S to replace the entire underground infrastructure and restore safe surface conditions. In order to accomplish this, the street and sidewalks had to be completely removed and replaced from store front to store front. The City also wished to revitalize their central business district by creating a unique streetscape. AE2S worked with the City and an architectural group to devise a plan that consisted of colored and patterned sidewalks and crosswalks, enhanced lighting, landscaping, banners, and a clock tower on the main intersection. • Hillsboro Riverbend Addition
The City of Hillsboro saw the need for a new residential housing development and hired AE2S to design new underground infrastructure and street construction for the new Riverbend Addition. The project consisted of a new sanitary lift station, new water and sewer utilities systems, the construction of new curb and gutter with a bituminous street surface, and new street lighting. The bituminous street section consisted of a 12” aggregate base course, geotextile fabric, drain tile tied into storm sewer to ensure adequate subsurface drainage, and 4 ½” of asphalt pavement. Approximately 2206 lineal feet of reinforced concrete (RCP) storm sewer was placed in this project. To accommodate the new ditch regrading, shaping, and drainage associated with the East Side drainage project, dual 36” RCP culverts were placed under the two new approaches to the Riverbend Addition.
