  • Rubgy Stormwater System Improvements
The City of Rugby was experiencing flooding during rainfall events due to inadequacy of their storm sewer system. AE2S was retained to develop a city-wide storm sewer system to reduce flooding during heavy rain events. AE2S performed a detailed study of the City’s problem areas, the priority of those areas, suggested improvements, and cost estimates for the creation of a City-Wide Stormwater Management Plan. The City was granted a Federal Hazard Mitigation Grant by the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) to aid the replacement of portions of the system and for new storm sewer improvements. The result of the planning and funding stages identified the priority areas within the funding budget and culminated in a Storm Sewer Improvements project which consisted of 24-inch to 48-inch piping, manholes, inlets, restoration, and landscaping. • Drainage and Stormwater Pollution Prevention Plan
Big Tree Nursery asked AE2S for assistance with the development of a site grading/drainage plan for a proposed 3-acre commercial business site, as well as assistance with stormwater permitting. The site was subject to Minnesota Pollution Control Agency National Pollutant Discharge/State Disposal System permit requirements and also was required to complete a Stormwater Pollution Prevention Plan (SWPPP). AE2S proposed a stormwater quality/detention pond to control water from storm events. Modeling was utilized to analyze the existing and proposled drainage conditions for the site. The model also enabled the proper analysis of the proposed outlet device. AE2S drafted a SWPPP, as well as taking care of the other permitting/drainage requirements, and Big Tree Nursery was able to obtain their city drainage permit in under an hour.
