  • New Regional Water System
Southeast Water Users District (SEWUD), formerly Ransom Sargent Water Users District, was formed due to a host of water supply issues, including both insufficient quantity and unacceptable quality. The system was constructed in four phases, and AE2S assisted SEWUD with funding throughout the project. Funding was received from Garrison Diversion Conservancy District's Municipal, Rural, and Industrial program, as well as loan funds through the United States Department of Agriculture/Rural Development. In addition, in 2005 AE2S prepared a Preliminary Engineering Report (PER) evaluating the potential impacts of the pending Arsenic Rule. The US Environmental Protection Agency ranked the project within the top ten of all potential Arsenic Trioxide Superfund projects, based on the PER. This made the project eligible for funding under the Superfund program.

Funding Development

Show me the money.  Many communities know the struggle of needing infrastructure improvements (sometimes mandatory, like meeting governmental regulations) but not having the money/tax base to fund those projects.  In those cases, funding programs are essential to making necessary projects a reality.  AE2S understands this need and has dedicated staff to funding research and application processes.  AE2S takes great pride in consistently getting our client’s projects on the important funding lists like the Project Priority List for the Drinking Water State Revolving Loan Fund Program.

In addition, AE2S continually fosters relationships with local, state, and federal agencies to assist our clients in financing their projects including Regional Councils for Community Development Block Grants (CDBG) and Rural Development Loans and Grants.  AE2S has also worked with the Bureau of Reclamation Municipal, Rural, and Industrial (MR&I) funding as well as the USEPA State and Tribal Assistance Grant (STAG) and the Midwest Assistance Program (MAP), and numerous other local programs.
